[Vigan] ▬ Seafood Pat Pick at Cafe Leona

    SEAFOOD PAT PICK

Haaaaa! I wanted to shout! Haaaa! Hahaha! This is because it is Thai Food Festival in Cafe Leona on a Saturday Night and I was able to try this Seafood Pat Pick.

It was served sizzling. How I wish I can also put the mouth of my chismosa neighbor on the sizzling plate no? Anyway, it was so tasty that I wanted to jump. Exxag, I kno'.

There were squid, shrimps and mussels to satisfy your cheap tongue craving for seafood.

Don't worry about the price because one serving is good for 3-4 people with standard appetite. If you have voracious appetite, good luck!

So it is 170 pesos per serving. If you divide it by four, each individual will just have to pay a little over than 40 pesos so it is still affordable, 'di ba? If you want to make tipid, bring your own rice , haha!

    Cafe Leona

I tried this food in Cafe Leona, a restaurant located along the famous Calle Crisologo in Vigan. This food is served ONLY every Saturday. The food is available starting at 6 PM.

[Vigan] ▬ Pad Pai Kraw Pao Nea at Cafe Leona

THAI FOOD: PAD PAI KRAW PAO NEA

The time I read about the name of this Thai food, I opted to eat it than to pronounce it. Gosh! This is nosebleed! How come this food will have to make me struggle first in twirling my tongue because I use my tongue in eating? Duhhh!

So you know what? I opted to eat this food than to pronounce it because it hurts my tongue.

Anyway, I love the half-cooked stream beans (I hope I'm right with the name of that green veggie) and the tender beef was perfect! But beware of the red thing there because this will burn your mouth, as in hot na hot! Ang anghang!!!

One platter costs 180 pesos but don't worry that is not expensive. The serving is good for 3-4 people. So if you divide it by 4, that would only cost yo' 45 pesos each! Ang mura na, sosyal pa, naka-Thai food ka pa, 'san ka pa!

Bongga!!! I ate this in Cafe Leona. They serve this food only during Saturday and not everyday so 'wag assuming! Saturday is their Thai food festival.

    Babay na!

[Vigan] ▬ Thai Fried Rice. Ang Sarap Mo!

    THAI FRIED RICE

One night I was in Vigan. Yes it was night. Not midnight. It was Saturday, the Thai Food Festival in Cafe Leona!

So what I am doing here? Of course, I'm here to eat! You know, I am PALAGUTOM and I am always gutom. Tahaaaa! It's my first time to try this so-called Thai Fried Rice. This is history!

I saw the lemon. I thought it was a dessert and I made it appear that I think it was  dessert so that I will appear ignorante. Palagutom Boy is so ignorante you know. Hahaha! I'm so cheap ya kno' and I don't eat food with cost of more than 100 pesos. Blah blah blah!

    Thai Fried Rice

So it is my first time to eat a fried rice because I usually eat plain rice because I am poor. As poor as your face.

However, even though I'm poor, this is still a mission accomplished because it did not exceed 100 pesos. Bongga!

I felt very very as in very very sosyal while eating with the non-trying hard sosyal tourists around in al fresco courtesy of the pangmayaman restaurant of Cafe Leona. So I felt so sosyal!

    CAFE LEONA IN VIGAN

Anyway, by the way, on the other hand, furthermore, on the other side, in light of the foregoing paragraphs, to sum it up, as a summary, in other words, I eat cheap food but I still appear sosyal hahaha!

The Thai fried rice of Cafe Leona is only 80 pesos. It was mixed with shrimps, pork and vegetables. You have to mix the lemon juice yourself unless you have a katulong in tow who looks better than your face to do the job for you.

    CALLE CRISOLOGO BEYBEH!

    Where I Ate This?

If you really read this corny post, you will know where I ate this. That restaurant is located along the famous Calle Crisologo in the city of Vigan and every night, they have the al fresco dining right on the cobblestone streets of Calle Crisologo. GORA NAAAA!

[Dagupan] ▬ Pork Chop and Sisig at Beans and Roots Coffee/Tea

PORK CHOP OF BEANS AND ROOTS

Beans and Roots Coffee and Tea

Yehey!!! After 50 golden years, Palagutom Boy is back to blogging! Anyway hi-way, I was able to afford another restaurant in Dagupan again. You see? I'm poor patay gutom but I see to it that I am sosyal!

    INTERIOR
    BUSINESS SIGNAGE
    CAFE COUNTER
    WITH FELLOW PALAGUTOM

This restaurant is located at 26-A Rizal Street, Dagupan City! Here are the food I've discovered amounting to not more than 100 pesos.

    PORK CHOP

    Pork Chop

This pork chop is pasok in our mission because it did not exceed 100 pesos mind you! This is enough for one person with regular appetite. To those who have voracious appetite, consider buying at least two, maybe?

They don't serve sauce automatically. You may ask for soy sauce with calamansi if you wish!

    PORK SISIG

    Pork Sisig

Another affordable find here is the Pork Sisig which also costs 100 pesos (gaya-gaya puto maya)! You can also request for a hot sauce to turn your tounge upside down! *Villain Laugh* Huwahahaha!

    SOLVED. BURP!

    Other Details

This restaurant has free delivery at a minimum of 300 pesos. Call them at (075) 540-2166.

That's it! Thanks for your time in reading this non-sense food blog of Palagutom Boy! Bye!

[San Fabian] ▬ Local Bibingka (Rice Cake) in Pangasinan

    LOCAL BIBINGKA OF PANGASINAN

    Gutom Intro

It's about 4 PM when I am walking down the town of San Fabian in Pangasinan in search for cheap food. I don't know why I always eat. LOL!

Then I saw a man cooking publicly. I approached him and I learned that he is cooking a local bibingka, a delicacy in San Fabian.

    About Bibingka

Bibingka is a popular food in the Philippines. If you are a Filipino, you know what's this. But for the sake of non-Filipino readers, bibingka is a rice cake mixed with coconut meat strands, placed on a banana leaf then grilled.

The distinct characteristic of bibingka is the notched edges.

    Cost: 2.50 pesos

The cost is as cheap as tupig. It is 2.50 pesos per piece. You can eat it right away! It is a good source of calories without spending much molah!

    SAN FABIAN CHURCH, PANGASINAN

    Where I Found this Food

Curious where I found this? I saw the vendors in a park in front of the San Fabian Church just across the street. I don't know what time they usually go here. I just saw the vendor randomly.

[Lingayen] ▬ Bangosilog: a Breakfast in Pangasinan

    BANGSILOG FROM GOTHAM CITY CAFE

Heyah! To all the followers of palagutom, follow lang ng follow! hahaha.. I'm in Lingayen! I'm poor yet I'm sosyal. #Char!

Of course, I will look for cheap food again here starting from 100 pesos down. If libre, mas masaya! C'mon let's discover Lingayen the pulubi style. Bahahaha!

    About Bangosilog

Silog meals are popular Filipino breakfasts. Silog stands for sinangag rice and itlog (egg). In Lingayen's Gotham City Cafe (an extension of The President's Hotel), I ordered Bangosilog which stands for Bangus + Sinangag + Itlog - just one of the countless silog versions you can make.

With this food I ordered here, I had a one piece of boneless bangus, an egg, a sinangag and a free coffee! Great breakfast really! Not so expensive.

    Cost: 100 Pesos

Ok, the cost of the meal is 100 pesos. That is swak! Naka-aircon ka pa! Juicecolored. You can also have a free videoke inside the restaurant, yes, for free! Birit na! Birit pa!

    Where I Ate This?

This restaurant is located along the Maramba Boulevard in Lingayen and it is an extension of The President's Hotel.

The restaurant is anime-themed with images of Batman, Spiderman and other fictitious superheroes. This is conveniently located in Lingayen. It is walking distance away from the Capitol grounds and the Lingayen Beach.

[Lingayen] ▬ Lugawan in front of the Lingayen Church

I PURCHASED THIS LUGAW FROM THE STREETS OF LINGAYEN

    About Lugaw

Lugaw is not new to every Filipino because Filipinos eat lugaw when they have nothing to eat. This is a sad reality though especially to those poor Filipinos. But, let's be happy! Because every rich and poor can eat lugaw! In Lingayen, they also have lugawww!

Ok, lugaw is made of rice with extra water to make it more fluid (ahh! I don't kow how to describe, duhhh!). Basta, this is rice, with extra water so as not to make it dry! 'Yun ng 'yon! Tahaaaa! Juicecolored.

This lugaw I ate has meat toppings, some herbs (onion leaves, I think) and egg.

    Cost: 26 pesos

As far as I remember, the lugaw I ate costed 26 pesos (with egg). Without the egg, it is cheaper. This served as my dinner. Promise, it was a cheap dinner that can make your world go round! #Char!

    Where to Eat this?

Well, I ate this along the Avenida Rizal East in Lingayen just in front of the Lingayen Parish Church. These food stalls appear at night, like starting from about 6 pm daily. They are there until midnight!

[Lucban] ▬ Espasol: I Lafang-ed this in Quezon Province!

MY FIRST TIME TO EAT ESPASOL

Some say this is from Laguna. Who cares? I ate this in Lucban, Quezon! Yey! Espasol is a kakanin type. I don't know what this is made of (I won't use Google for this) but it's like made of a glutinous rice, or maybe flour. But it is sweet wrapped with powder. Please lang! This is is not a baby powder jaz-ya-yo'-kno'!

Based on my experience (parang lovelife lang), espasol was wrapped in paper. I bought this inside the bus. I also ate this inside the bus.

Espasol is not necessarily made from Lucban. Some are made from Laguna and some parts of Quezon like Tayabas City. But espasol abounds here due to the Kamay ni Hesus, a popular pilgrimage site. Of course, vendors take advantage of the huge market of pilgrims.

Cost: 100 pesos for 3 packs (and it depends)

Well it depends on who made it. Some offer 4 packs per 100 pesos. By the way that's not my nail above. It's the vendor's.

    Where to Eat this?

Well you don't need to go to restaurant just to eat espasol. This is sold by vendors inside buses and in some popular sites like Kamay ni Hesus in Lucban. So, don't ya worry. You can eat this everywhere!

[San Fernando] ▬ North Mandarin Hotel's 'Special Halo-Halo'

    SPECIAL HALO-HALO OF NORTH MANDARIN

After a tiring walking tour around the city of SAN FERNANDO, I was craving for a very cold food. Charaaaan! And it became halo-halo. The gutom story starts here.

AFFORDABLE HALO-HALO IN A RESTAURANT HOTEL

    APPETIZING!

About Halo-Halo: Shall I say more? I'm so lazy to explain and type right now. Haha. Can you just please search it on Google? Urghhh! May pinaghuhugutan. But for this version, the ice cream stands out. LOL!

Cost - 75 pesos: This is a certified palagutom dessert for it fell within the 0-100 bracket. Haha. It is placed in a bowl. not glass. I think the price is safe for the volume but not with the quality of the serving. Just an opinion based on personal experience.

    NORTH MANDARIN HOTEL AND RESTAURANT

So here is where I ate this food. They are open from 8 am to 9 pm daily. The hotel is located along Quezon Avenue in the City of San Fernando in LA UNION. If you want some peace of mind or non-crowded place, you can try here but I can not attest yet that they serve the best food that are sulit in budget.

[San Fernando] ▬ Sweet and Sour Pork Rice Toppings at North Mandarin Hotel

SWEET AND SOUR PORK RICE TOPPINGS

This is +PALAGUTOM 's first dining experience in a hotel in LA UNION. When @PalagutomBoy has the molah, he goes to some good restaurant hotels to eat. But when his Palagutom persona is activated, he also goes to hotel restaurants but he only eats food with amount not more than 100 pesos. By the way, if you want to follow his sosyal food blog, as in pangmayaman food blog (Warning: This is a formal and a personal type blog so if you want a trash, just stay here) click here - 101Food.

    SO INVITING!

This food I ordered in this restaurant is a common one. In fact, popular fastfood chains like Chowking is mainstream-ing this food. This food is composed of pork, of course (obvious ba?) that both taste sweet and sour.

So far, this is not the best sweet and sour pork rice toppings I've ever eaten. Chowking's version is better than this food prepared in a hotel, plus, mas mahal pa.

    ORANGE IS DELICIOUS.

I LOVE THE TABLE. IT BLENDS.

Cost - 98 Pesos: For a hotel, expect that this is a bit more expensive. But at least, my goal was met here. This is still a certified +PALAGUTOM food at below 100 pesos.

But if you're looking for another option, yes, please do. I'm afraid this food might not be a bang for the buck. But you can try and judge it. Anyway, as I said, this is still a palagutom food at 98 pesos.

[San Fernando] ▬ That 'Baked Macaroni' for lunch

    BAKED MACARONI

The truth of the matter is, I feel so hottie when I get hungry. Hahaha! Bowowowow! Anyway highway, let me introduce to you a food that everybody knows, LOL! This is baked macaroni I ordered in La Union for lunch. The gutom story starts there.

    CUTE PLATE

Baked Macaroni is not new to us. But when I asked the staff at the counter what is this, she told me 'spaghetti.' Really! True story! Cute me, I believed her. But she later realized it was not a spaghetti. I also realized I was so dumb to believe that moment. But generally, I am smart. Nakkks! Haha..

But for the information of those who are their first time to encounter the food baked macaroni, this blog is just for fun so better go to Google and bombard yourself with information you can not contain. I am suggesting this because you will not learn anything here. Haha... Go to Google or Wikipedia and realize that this blog is just a trash. LOL!

    Cost: 80 Pesos

The cost is not nakapagtataka, shall I say more? Some even cost up to a whooping 81 pesos!!! That's a big big difference! Hmm?

So if this is for a lunch, it can relieve the hunger but be careful, you might not get satisfied with what you have eaten. So if you go in this restaurant for lunch, discretion is advised. This baked macaroni is not good for a lunch.

    CAFE ESPERANZA

    Where to Eat This?

I found this food in Cafe Esperanza near the city plaza of SAN FERNANDO and Mabanag Hall. They are open from 7 am to 7 pm. They usually serve snacks and not swarovski crystals. Deymn!

[San Fernando] Nido Soup at Kawbin's in La Union

    Gutom Intro

So, this is so-so. Guess what I've found! It is nido soup! Nah! This is not a milk that you sip... then consider it soup? Nah! Absolutely nah! I was scouting several restaurants along Quezon Avenue in San Fernando City, La Union until I noticed a restaurant called Kawbin's. The gutom story starts here.

    About Nido Soup

In fact, I've been hearing about this nido soup already whenever I go to caves, already, then already. Bongga! Bahahaha! Usually, my guides tell me that these caves are where the nido soup is coming from, as in, there are birds staying in these caves that produce the raw materials in making this soup. So what is that raw material? Get ready!! *drumroll* -- It is SALIVAAAAAA! As in saliva and that is so ewwwyyy.

So they take the hardened saliva of the birds from their nest. True story! I've met people who have risked their lives climbing for bird's nest inside the caves to get the raw material. And you know, this is expensive. You know. Just so you know. That's why many are motivated to take the risk. Bow!

What else? Tastes good of course but expect that the consistency is like a saliva too. Are you willing to take that? Hmmm. In this restaurant, they mixed it with quail eggs and generally, it tasted like lomi, or close to that.

Cost: 80 pesos for small bowl

This is a popular Chinese food because the Chinese believe it can increase libido, Nukkks! This is quite expensive but in a Chinese restaurant called Kawbin's where I ate this, a small bowl of the soup costs 80 pesos. So that's so palagutom, cheap at below 100 pesos.

    Where to eat this, aber?

So yes, as I am talking about, I ate this in Kawbin's located along Quezon Avenue of the city of San Fernando in La Union near North Mandarin Hotel. They are open from 8am up tp 9 pm. They usually offer Chinese food.
