Beans and Roots Coffee and Tea

Yehey!!! After 50 golden years, Palagutom Boy is back to blogging! Anyway hi-way, I was able to afford another restaurant in Dagupan again. You see? I'm poor patay gutom but I see to it that I am sosyal!

This restaurant is located at 26-A Rizal Street, Dagupan City! Here are the food I've discovered amounting to not more than 100 pesos.

    PORK CHOP

    Pork Chop

This pork chop is pasok in our mission because it did not exceed 100 pesos mind you! This is enough for one person with regular appetite. To those who have voracious appetite, consider buying at least two, maybe?

They don't serve sauce automatically. You may ask for soy sauce with calamansi if you wish!

    PORK SISIG

    Pork Sisig

Another affordable find here is the Pork Sisig which also costs 100 pesos (gaya-gaya puto maya)! You can also request for a hot sauce to turn your tounge upside down! *Villain Laugh* Huwahahaha!

    SOLVED. BURP!

    Other Details

This restaurant has free delivery at a minimum of 300 pesos. Call them at (075) 540-2166.

That's it! Thanks for your time in reading this non-sense food blog of Palagutom Boy! Bye!

[Dagupan] Cheap Local Cuisine of Dagupan City! Pigar-Pigar!

    PIGAR-PIGAR ► DAGUPAN

Hahaha! I don't know why I am laughing. Maybe because I am in love. Wahahaha... Anyway highway, I'm going to feature this local dish of Dagupan called pigar-pigar as in pigar-pigar. If you are sosyal you can pronounce it as pee-gohr-pee-gohr. If you are a mathematician you can do the pigar- raised-to-the-second-power thing. Awww! As in aww na aww bow-wow-wowww. Hahaha!

Pee-gohr-pee-gohr (remember Palagutom Boy is poor but feeling sosyal), is cheap at 80 pesos per serving. The 80 pesos serving is 1/4 kilogram of beef.

Wait! I forgot to tell that pee-gohr-pee-gohr is all about beef mixed with onions and cabbages. But it depends on you. If you want to mix it with seedless mango, frozen olive oil and boiling ice, do it! ...and do eattttt!!! Basta, the basic ingredients are the beef, onion and cabbage. Why make things complicated. Uh! I'm sosyal but I will never use Swarovski crystal plate. Hihihi.

    PIGAR-PIGAR ► DAGUPAN
    PIGAR-PIGAR ► DAGUPAN

The best authentic place to eat pigar-pigar is in Galvan Street! Stores are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 4 weeks a month, 12 months a year, 10 years a decade, 10 decades a century and a whooooooping 10 centuries a millennium! Bonggaaaa!!

What are you waiting for! Pigar-pigar is cheap at 80 pesos. So this is a mission accomplished since I was able to find a food cheaper than 100 pesos. That serving is actually good for 2-3 people with average appetite. But if your appetite is voracious and insatiable, the store owners will be very happy. Haha.

[DAGUPAN] Eating Street Food in Standing Position

[Dagupan City] Eating Street Foods in Standing Position

"Don't worry, a lot of people there are standing eating with you so don't be ashamed, you're not alone. But make sure it is about 4pm to 7pm where the peak hour really peaks in. Just feel free to eat and relax alternatively!"

The hungry traveler landed in the country's bangus capital. But aside from bangus, I discovered some interesting do-it-yourself style of eating along the busy and traffic-jammed streets of Dagupan.

Chicken Nuggets served by a food stall along Burgos Street, Dagupan City

I said do it yourself manner of eating because just after you buy the food, the vendor is no longer accountable where you're going to stay.

But of course, if the food isn't that well, you might complain but for your space to eat, never ask for assistance.

You have to look a space for yourself and don't get surprised if everyone around you is standing while handling a food and eating in standing position.

    Tokneneng, one-day-old chicken and isaw

Along Burgos Street in Dagupan and just near the fences of the Dagupan City plaza, there are food stalls there and everything can be considered a street food.

Some of the most famous Philippine street foods are here. We have the tokneneng, an egg wrapped by a flour with mixed ingredients then dipped in a sauce.

    One-day-old chicken barbecue

There is also the isaw, intestines of chicken griilled to create a chicken intestine barbecue. Speaking of chicken, better try the one-day-old. Yes, that's right. The name of the food is one-day-old because it is in fact a one-day-old chick just escaped from the egg shell.

There you have the one-day-old chicken and there is a technique in eating this. When I bought one, the vendor suddenly stopped me when I was about to eat that and told me to give the food and learned that there is a technique in eating it.

The vendor removed something from that one-day-old chicken and she told me that the removable thing out there tastes bitter. So, that was the technique and I don't know how to do it, lol!

This was really fun. In this part of Dagupan, there are no tables. You have to eat while standing and yeah, it was cool while viewing other people walking into rush and the traffic jam, I think this is another way to relax...

Don't worry, a lot of people there are standing eating with you so don't be ashamed, you're not alone. But make sure it is about 4pm to 7pm where the peak hour really peaks in. Just feel free to eat and relax alternatively!
